MBF Filmtechnik invests in VariCam LT
MBF Filmtechnik, one of Germany’s leading film rental and sales companies has invested in the Panasonic VariCam LT, opening new creative opportunities for the country’s production market.
The camera is already in use on the first German feature to be shot with the camera. Nur Gott Kann Mich Richten, produced by Constantin Film and Ratpack, is set to debut in September 2017.
Chief Executive Officer of MBF Filmtechnik, Peter Matthäi, said, “We are pleased to be working with Panasonic to provide the VariCam LT to the German rental market. We see the camera fitting the demands of feature film, commercial and TV productions very well, with the dual native ISO and distinctive VariCam look opening up new creative options.
“We have already had success with Nur Gott Kann Mich Richten and we look forward to helping meet the needs of many other production companies on their future projects.”
Luc Bara, Technical Product Manager for Panasonic, said, “We’re delighted that MBF has put faith in the VariCam LT with this investment. Together we have a strong belief that the camera can add real value to both natural history and drama production in Germany.”
The 4K Panasonic VariCam LT is equipped with dual native ISO settings of 800 and 5,000 and offers the ability to change the mount from an EF mount (standard) to a PL mount (optional), increasing the range of usable lenses.
