Five star Panasonic makes the cut at Fire and Security Excellence awards

Panasonic has been recognised as industry leaders at the fire and security excellence awards, being shortlisted for five awards including the hardware and software manufacturer of the year.

The awards will be held on the 21 November at London Hilton on Park Lane, with organisers UBM and IFSEC commending Panasonic as deserving finalists across five different categories.

Panasonic is nominated for security hardware manufacturer of the year for its rugged i-Pro extreme range. Reliability is assured through its clear sight coating and its intelligent auto technology, meaning the camera automatically adjusts its gain and shutter speed to brightness and movement, improving the quality of recorded security video content.

The range is compatible with the new deep learning facial recognition and video insight technology, which has seen Panasonic also nominated for software manufacturer of the year. The face server can identify faces difficult to recognise with conventional techniques, including faces at an angle of up to 45 degrees to the left or right or 30 degrees up or down, and those partially hidden by sunglasses and face masks.

By enhancing GDPR compliance when using surveillance technology, Panasonic has also been nominated for its contributions to standards in security. People masking technology and secure communication protect personal data and dramatically reduces the likelihood of cyber hacking.

In addition, secure communication has been nominated for the holistic security software system of the year. The platform provides a series of cyber technologies which also reduces the usual overhead of 20% on the IP stream to just 2%. Panasonic has worked in partnership  with a leading protection provider to combine highly reliable pre-installed certifications to protect end users.

Finally, Panasonic was also nominated for the customer care initiative of the year by implementing a centralised in-house repair ticketing model with an improved service web portal, responding to the on-going voice of customer.
